NINE.i‘s Seowon has just announced his departure from the group.
On June 13, the group’s X account shared the notice, revealing the news. His departure has been attributed to “personal reasons” with no further details beyond the group continuing as a seven-member unit.
Hello, this is NINE.i.
Seowon, who has been with NINE.i as a member, has decided to leave the team due to personal reasons.
We sincerely apologize for causing concern to many fans with this sudden news.
As a result, NINE.i will continue activities as a 7-member group moving forward.
Once again, we are truly sorry for the sudden news and for distressing our fans.

Seowon was among the many familiar faces announced to compete in BOYS II PLANET, though it was assumed he would return to group activities after the show.
NINE.i also recently resolved legal issues with the company by leaving it. The group originally debuted as ten, though following member Winnie’s departure in 2024, and Joohyoung earlier this year brought the number down to eight prior to this announcement.
