Recently, aespa‘s Karina was the center of controversy after posting a picture of herself in a black and red jacket on her personal Instagram.
Her jacket was red and clearly visible, with the number “2” written on it, which is associated with the People’s Power Party. Many felt that it showed her implicit support for South Korea’s conservative presidential candidate, Kim Moon Soo.

Han Kang, winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize for Literature, heavily feature feminist ideals in many of her works, including a focus on the misogyny faced by women today.
Her recent comments “calling out” the misogyny female idols face in terms of career longevity were also brought up.
