One of them was the eyewear company, Gentle Monster. Jennie’s collaborations with the brand were such a hit with the public that their names have almost become synonymous.
It is also a well-acknowledged fact that Gentle Monster gained mainstream popularity only after Jennie became its face. She was also the only K-Pop idol associated with the brand as a model.
But now, Karina has joined this legacy, as the brand recently announced its new campaign featuring the “Whiplash” singer. Gentle Monster also released a new pictorial featuring Karina in their quirky Bratz collection.
While Karina looked stunning in the photos, most netizens are against the idea of warming up to a new face for Gentle Monster. A viral post on Theqoo on this topic has garnered over 67,000 views and over 700 comments, with most remarking that no one else could embody the brand image of Gentle Monster like Jennie could. Some also took issue with the brand for selecting Karina as their new model amid her current political controversy.
