He shared that he had disposed of it.
BTS‘s Jungkook has recently apologized for a controversial item of clothing he wore.

On June 13, J-Hope held his concert in Seoul, featuring Jungkook as a special guest. The 97-liner took the stage with J-Hope, even performing his hit track “Seven” with him.

Before the show, Jungkook was spotted rehearsing, and it was during this that the hat was spotted. Jungkook wore a black cap with the phrase “Make Tokyo Great Again.”
The hat is meant to be a spoof of the phrase “Make America Great Again,” or MAGA, which US President Donald Trump and his supporters use.
This, and the relationship South Korea has with Japan due to the atrocities committed while the country annexed it, led to many adverse reactions.
- Lol? Maybe he was jealous of Magarina… maybe he wanted to be Maga Jungkook or something.
- Ah Jungkook, seriously!! Sigh… what are you doing right after being discharged?
- Surely you wouldn’t be this obvious about it… are you just ignorant?
- Japanese far-right hat! No way to defend this.
These reactions seem to be what fueled Jungkook to post an apology for wearing it.
On June 14, Jungkook posted an apology to Weverse, and stated that the hat had been “discarded.”
Hello, this is Jungkook.
It’s been a while since I’ve written to you, and having to do so like this makes my heart heavy.
I sincerely apologize for the disappointment and discomfort caused by the phrase written on the hat I wore during today’s rehearsal.
I fully acknowledge that my lack of awareness in not thoroughly checking the historical and political meaning behind the phrase led to causing disappointment and hurt, and I accept this heavily.
I am just sorry.
There is no excuse for this under any circumstance. I was careless and lacking in judgment.
From now on, I will think and act more carefully, step by step.I will humbly accept all criticism and reproach for my mistake.
I have immediately discarded the hat.
Once again, I sincerely apologize.— Jungkook
In related news, the hat actually sold out after he was spotted wearing it.
