“Looks like an alien ate them and then threw up.”
As creative as the idea was, the execution of CRAVITY‘s mood teaser and concept photos for their new album has since left K-Pop fans confused and a bit grossed out.
Starting on June 13, 2025 (KST), the STARSHIP Entertainment boy group began revealing their upcoming second album, Dare to Crave. The photos showed CRAVITY members breaking out of an egg, covered in goo.
The photos inevitably triggered some strong responses from K-Pop fans. Some believed it to be creative…
…but most expressed being weirded out by the whole thing.
- “Ugh, makes me want to barf.”
- “What are they, Gudetamas? What even is this?”
- “It’s making me nauseous…”
- “As someone with rhinitis, this is PTSD-inducing. Looks just like me when my nose is running.”
- “Aliens LOL.”
- “It might’ve been fine if it were toned down, but this is just way too much.”
- “It’s strangely off-putting.”
- “Looks like an alien ate them and then threw up.”
- “Feels like something gay people might like…”
- “Is this supposed to be an alien concept..?”
- “It doesn’t even come across as sexual, just gross LOL.”
- “I think I get what kind of aesthetic they were going for, but it feels like a total fail.”
- “It’s unsettling, uncomfortable, and dirty… Not sexually dirty, just weirdly filthy… I instinctively furrowed my brow the moment I saw it.”
- “Hilarious.”
- “What is this?!”
Both Korean fans and international fans questioned the directing that took place behind the “alien” covered in “c*m” look that was achieved:
