The public was against this decision.
Recently, there has been talk over Woori Bank’s decision to select QWER, a girl group previously involved in internet streaming broadcasts, as the new models.

On June 4, Woori Bank announced the news of the “TeenTeen Card” QWER edition, a prepaid debit card issued to youths aged 7-18, which can be issued without a bank account.
However, consumers are growing outraged over the bank’s choice of QWER for its model. Most of the members are former “BJs” with a history of wearing provocative outfits on internet broadcasts.
Even searching the group members now, many photos from their past streamer days are shown.
Parents of teenage children were unhappy about the model selection and felt the group was not fit to be models for this product.
There was even opposition from Woori Bank employees over this decision.
Banks are all about their image, so using former live streamers who went on broadcast with almost no clothes on as models doesn’t seem right. Using them as models for a product targeting teenagers could ruin the company’s reputation.

Even among experts, the opinion is that the company’s model selection of the product was inappropriate.
The criticism surrounding Woori Bank’s selection is entirely understandable. Marketing to youth should not simply consider the marketing effects, but also the imitation effects and ethical issues that will affect youth.
