Recently, K-Pop idol group ENHYPEN went viral online for a particular piece of fan merchandise.

Fans discovered they were taking pre-orders for a [WALK THE LINE IN JP -SUMMER EDITION] water gun, which cost 30,450 KRW ($~22.50 USD).
However, fans quickly found out that the water gun design was almost exactly the same as a water gun being sold for for about 3,000 KRW ($~2.21 USD) on TaoBao, a Chinese online shopping platform.
Fans were frustrated as they felt they lacked sincerity and put no effort into making the merchandise.
Please put in more effort and change the design before selling it. It really sucks to see them taking something that costs a few bucks on TaoBao and putting on a logo on it and selling it for over 30,000 KRW ($~22.50 USD).
Netizens who saw this couldn’t believe they had the nerve to sell this as merch to fans.
- “Really? Are they crazy?”
- “It would be cheaper to just buy it on TaoBao and slap a logo on it myself.”
- “This is really too much.”
- “It would be cheaper to buy one on TaoBao even with the overseas shipping.”
- “Are they really taking people’s money for this?”
- “They are taking it too far…”
- “I have no words because the design is so similar…they must make a lot of profit, seeing that they are selling it ten times the original price.”
