Eagle-eyed fans have connected some dots 👀
YG Entertainment has shocked fans with a surprise announcement, just a year after BABYMONSTER‘s debut, the company revealed plans to launch another girl group.
In a recent video, YG founder Yang Hyun Suk shared multiple updates about the company’s artists and trainees. After discussing the male trainees, he shifted the spotlight to the female trainees, revealing that a new girl group is in the works.

According to Yang, the group will consist of four members, all of whom have already been finalized. He added that their introduction will begin soon, with the first member set to be unveiled on May 28, KST.
The announcement came as a surprise to many, considering BABYMONSTER only debuted in 2023. YG rarely debuts groups this close together, especially of the same gender, which has led to increased curiosity about the upcoming group.

Alongside the excitement, rumors have already begun to circulate about who the members may be, and one name is standing out: former ILLIT star Youngseo.
Youngseo was originally introduced to fans as a contestant on the JTBC and BELIFT LAB survival show R U Next?. She eventually placed second and was set to debut as a member of ILLIT. However, just months later the agency confirmed that Youngseo had left the group following a mutual agreement to terminate her contract. No specific reason for her departure was given.
