Boys Planet II is set to air, and one well-known former HYBE trainee’s appearance has sparked major criticism.
Recently, Mnet announced “blind pick” voting for the contestants, but without any information. Yet, netizens have recognized some familiar names, including active idols, popular trainees, and former survival show contestants.
One of the contestants netizens noticed was the former member of BIGHIT’s pre-debut group Trainee A, Leo.
The group gained a lot of attention, but Leo garnered criticism after including misogynistic and insensitive lyrics in his rap.
Leo announced he was leaving the group, following the controversy, and many thought this was a major factor in the group disbanding.
After netizens shared the photos of Leo in the lineup, many brought back his past and how serious the allegations against him were, including how the lyrics spoke about very sensitive topics and used them in an aggressive way. They shared anger that despite everything, a lot of fans still shared support for Leo, especially with the Boys Planet II announcement.
