In the June 14 broadcast of the popular JTBC variety show, Knowing Bros, a fourth-generation female idol candidly talked about getting a hair transplant surgery.
On this episode, the show welcomed special guests Kim Wan Sun, Lee Chaeyeon, Narsha from Brown Eyed Girls, and Chanelle Moon from FIFTY FIFTY. The idol who shared the hair transplant story was Lee Chaeyeon.
The singer shared a rather unpleasant memory related to the Waterbomb Festival while explaining why she chose to get the hair procedure done eventually. Chaeyeon recalled that during her first Waterbomb appearance, she wanted to prepare everything perfectly and even paid attention to the empty spaces on her scalp. “So, I sprayed hair powder and went on stage,” she candidly admitted, but unfortuantely, it was washed away with the water on stage.
This incident left a deep impression on Chaeyeon, leaving her concerned about her future performances. “I kept thinking I had to perform at Waterbomb again, so I immediately got a hair transplant.,” she explained.
Chaeyeon revealed that she got 3,571 grafts transplanted, to which Narsha bewilderedly responded saying anything over 3,000 was usually considered a lot. The idol also shared that she got the procedure done by Han Sang Bo, a name most of the celebrities in the room were familiar with.
Though Chaeyeon decided to get the transplant after experiencing a painful situation, her openness to discuss it without any inhibition was admirable.
