In the preview of the upcoming episode of You Quiz On The Block, a rising K-Drama star shared his incredible journey of going from a minimum wage worker to one of the most talked about faces in the industry currently.
The actor in question is Choo Young Woo, who has recently captured hearts with his chilling portrayal of the antagonist Lee Geum Son in the Netflix K-Drama Mercy for None.
With one after another successful project in the bag, Choo is well on his way to becoming the next big thing in the industry. What makes his rise to the top even more fascinating is the fact that he, quite literally, started from the very bottom. In the June 11 preview of You Quiz On The Block‘s new episode, host Choo admitted that when he joined the industry four years ago, he was rejected in every audition that he had tried out.
To make ends meet, the actor revealed that he took on various part-time jobs to make ends meet. He worked as a supermarket cart attendant, a security guard, and even a parking attendant.
But eventually, his perseverance paid off, landing him where he is today. His appearance on You Quiz On The Block itself is a testament to his growth, given that he had appeared on the show six years ago as a regular student.
Choo Young Woo’s success story has left netizens even more appreciative of the actor. He debuted in 2021 with the web drama You Make Me Dance and meticulously built his acting resume with notable roles in Police University, School 2021, Once Upon a Small Town, and Oasis. This year, however, he rapidly rose to prominence with back-to-back hits with The Tale of Lady Ok and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, and the ongoing Netflix show, Mercy For None.
