As a grisly war wages on between Israel and Iran, American citizens everywhere wait with baited breath for President Trump to announce whether or not U.S. troops will be marching into battle. The topic is so highly contested that even diehard MAGA supporters, once so strongly unified in their beliefs, now find themselves torn on what position to take. Enter Tucker Carlson and Sen. Ted Cruz, two prominent right-wing pundits who are currently at each other’s throats on the matter.
On June 17, Carlson released a clip of his interview with Cruz on X, causing a wild uproar on all sides of the political spectrum. In the clip, Carlson pokes scathing holes in the Texas Senator’s knowledge of Iran, or rather the apparent lack thereof.
“How many people live in Iran, by the way?” The right-wing media personality asks, opposing Cruz’s argument that the U.S. should enter the conflict with Iran.
“I don’t know the population,” Cruz states.
Flabbergasted, Carlson takes another jab: “You don’t know the population of the country you seek to topple?”
Indignant, Cruz responds, “I don’t sit around memorizing population tables.”
The shady exchange has sparked conversations all over the internet and has left viewers scrambling to find out where to watch the rest of Carlson and Cruz’s heated debate. If you’re wondering how you can check it out, here’s what we know.
Was the interview between Tucker Carlson and Ted Cruz today?
No; the intense two-hour-long interview between Carlson and Cruz presumably occurred sometime in the last few days. Clips started circulating yesterday (June 17), but the full interview was finally posted to YouTube at around 3:00 p.m. ET today (June 18). Despite their conflicting opinions, the two conservatives seemed to end things on friendly terms; this was, of course, before Cruz blew up at Carlson on X for posting “a snippet playing a ‘gotcha’ on the population of Iran.” So much for making amends.
