Ji Sung, Won Jin Ah, and Park Hee Soon have been confirmed for the new drama “Judge Lee Han Young” (literal title)!
Based on a web novel, “Judge Lee Han Young” follows the story of Lee Han Young, a judge who, after being falsely accused and meeting a tragic death, travels 20 years back in time.
Ji Sung takes on the role of Lee Han Young, a single judge at the Chungnam District Court. During his uneventful days as a single judge, Lee Han Young becomes the son-in-law of a successful law firm CEO. He then begins to abuse his authority for personal gain, repeatedly engaging in trials influenced by external requests. Just as he resolves to put an end to this, he suddenly finds himself transported back to his days as a single judge 10 years ago. From that point on, he struggles to live a new life. With bold new decisions and judgments, Ji Sung’s performance is expected to deliver a thrilling sense of satisfaction to viewers, raising anticipation for the new drama.
Park Hee Soon takes on the role of Kang Shin Jin, the Chief Criminal Judge at the Seoul Central District Court and a key figure in the shadow government led by a former president. Possessing immense power and showing no hesitation in trading law and verdicts, Kang Shin Jin fiercely clashes with Lee Han Young, driving the plot forward with intense confrontations.
Won Jin Ah plays the role of Kim Jin Ah, a prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. Driven by a single-minded determination to catch Jang Tae Sik of S Group, Kim Jin Ah becomes a prosecutor and ends up joining hands with Lee Han Young, who offers to help her. However, as she observes the people Lee Han Young meets, she finds herself walking a tightrope between trust and suspicion. Anticipation is building for the bold developments that Won Jin Ah will portray and what stories lie between the two characters.
The production team remarked, “Ji Sung is returning to MBC for the first time in 10 years. Through this project, he will attempt yet another transformation and present himself to viewers in a new light. Ji Sung, who has completely immersed himself in his character, will add to the excitement of the drama with his gripping mind games.” They added, “Furthermore, Park Hee Soon and Won Jin Ah, who both possess solid acting skills and commanding presence, will create breathtaking tension and catharsis as their characters become entangled with Ji Sung’s character.
