Jung Il Woo, Jung In Sun, and Yoon Hyun Min are set to star in the new drama “Splendid Days” (literal translation)!
On June 17, KBS2 announced that actors Jung Il Woo, Jung In Sun and Yoon Hyun Min will lead its upcoming weekend drama “Splendid Days.” The series is directed by Kim Hyung Suk and written by So Hyun Kyung.
“Splendid Days” is a generational family drama built around the idea that everyone experiences their own glorious days—whether in the present, the past or still to come. The story explores how people encounter and reflect on these meaningful moments in life.
Director Kim Hyung Suk, known for his nuanced direction in dramas such as “Cheat On Me, If You Can,” “My Golden Life” and “My Husband Got a Family,” reunites with writer So Hyun Kyung, praised for her strong storytelling in works like “My Golden Life,” “Twenty Again” and “Seo Yeong, My Daughter.”
Jung Il Woo will portray Lee Ji Hyuk, a capable man recognized for his success in both his career and personal life. He is driven and coolheaded yet carries a sharp sense of humor. Though his life appears glamorous on the surface, he experiences rock bottom, overcomes adversity, and gradually discovers the true meaning of life.
Jung In Sun takes on the role of Ji Eun Oh, a cheerful and optimistic café manager and interior designer. Despite growing up under tough circumstances, she lives with passion and without regret. Even after being rejected by her longtime crush, Lee Ji Hyuk, she remains by his side as a warm and steady presence.
Yoon Hyun Min brings depth to the story as Park Sung Jae, a polished and confident man born into privilege. Raised in a wealthy environment, he has both composure and manners and seems to lack nothing. Yet beneath the surface, he harbors a deep sense of loneliness. He forms a bond with Ji Hyuk and his family and will portray a complex emotional journey as he navigates the line between love and friendship.
The production team said, “With Jung Il Woo, Jung In Sun, and Yoon Hyun Min joining the cast, we have completed a truly standout lineup. We hope the heartfelt stories and subtle emotional performances these three actors bring will offer comfort and resonate with viewers of all generations as they go through their own lives.”
