However, during the rehearsals for these performances, Lee Mujin was reportedly mistreated. According to news reports, a person presumed to be the event producer interrupted the rehearsal, speaking rudely over the microphone.

Stop this. What are you doing? You’ll have time to adjust the sound during the actual performance. The next team is waiting now.

Fans who were at the event, watching the rehearsal, shared their stories online—noting how visibly confused and disappointed Lee Mujin looked amid what happened. Some fans commented that the singer himself expressed frustration while addressing his fans after his rehearsal was after his rehearsal was abruptly interrupted.

In response, the expo organizer issued an apologetic statement via their official social media, referring to the mistreatment as “an unfortunate incident.”

We sincerely apologize to Lee Mujin, his fans, and the audience members who were disappointed by an unfortunate incident that occurred during the rehearsal for the celebratory performance at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Cheonan K-Culture Expo.

Following the incident, the staff member in question extended a formal apology to Lee Mujin and his team. To prevent such situations from happening again, we have issued a strong warning and conducted internal training for both the event production agency and the individual staff member.

Once again, we offer our heartfelt apologies to Lee Mujin, his fans, and all audience members present at the venue who were affected.

The apology was not well-received, as more fans demanded Big Planet Made to step in and explain what exactly happened to Lee Mujin. The management agency then admitted that the producer displayed “inappropriate and disrespectful behavior” and that “strong action against both the event organizers and the production company” would follow.

We find the inappropriate and disrespectful behavior by the on-site staff during rehearsal extremely regrettable. We plan to take strong action against both the event organizers and production company in light of the seriousness of the incident and to protect our artist. We will take all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence.

Later, in a phone interview with Sports Kyunghyang, the event organizers confirmed that the producer has been removed from the event.

The producer in question was hired by the production company. It appears the message intended for internal staff communication was mistakenly broadcast through the live mic. Even from our perspective, it was clearly disrespectful to the artist. The producer was originally scheduled to stay on for the remaining events, but we are taking appropriate action.

The production company has reportedly conveyed their apology to the artist, and we’re continuing to communicate directly through our representatives. We plan to issue an official apology in person on June 7, Saturday, when Lee Mujin returns to the stage. We are committed to ensuring something like this never happens again.

Previously, Lee Mujin fell victim to a feud between his agency, Big Planet Made (and parent company, One Hundred Label), and KBS channel—leading him to miss a shoot of his own show, LeeMujin Service, starring NMIXX‘s Kyujin.
