T.O.P kept a low profile after this, but recently returned to the spotlight with his appearance as Thanos in Squid Game‘s second season. This was also his return to interviews, as the idol conducted several for the first time in years.
Recently, despite not being in the new season, he has been heavily featured in promotions and taken his place back in front of fans.
T.O.P Addresses Past Controversies In Front Of Fans For The First Time
Many have wondered if and when the idol would return to music, including a possible return to BIGBANG, and he seems to have confirmed that he will be returning to music!
As part of his promotions with Netflix, T.O.P was interviewed by Award Buzz, which was posted to YouTube.
When the interviewer asked T.O.P about the rule that Thanos, his on-screen character, would enact to bother people, he responds that he would do like Thanos did in the Avengers series and take the money for himself.
Surprisingly, the idol-actor then said “Because his solo album is dropping soon!”

Many have taken this as the idol making an announcement about his return to music, though it could have been him still speaking in the Thanos character. Either way, fans have expressed excitement over his possible return!
