Chae Seo An may be starring together with IU again in a new drama!
On June 12, Chae Seo An’s agency Blitzway Entertainment shared, “Chae Seo An is positively considering [the offer to star] in MBC’s upcoming drama ‘Wife of a 21st Century Prince’ (working title).”
“Wife of a 21st Century Prince” is a romance drama set in an alternate version of Korea that is a constitutional monarchy. The drama will tell the love story of Sung Hee Joo (IU), a chaebol heiress who has everything but is only a commoner in status, and Grand Prince Yi Wan (Byeon Woo Seok), a prince who has nothing despite being the son of the king. The cast also includes Noh Sang Hyun and Gong Seung Yeon.
Chae Seo An is reportedly in talks to play the daughter of a noble family, and the sister-in-law of IU’s character Sung Hee Joo.
If confirmed, this would mark her second time working with IU following their previous collaboration in Netflix’s hit drama “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” where she played the younger version of Yeong Ran (Jang Hye Jin), the wife of Bu Sang Gil (Choi Dae Hoon).
“Wife of a 21st Century Prince” is slated to air in the first half of 2026 as part of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama lineup. Stay tuned for more updates!
