Yoon Kye Sang, Jin Sun Kyu, Kim Ji Hyun, Go Kyu Pil, and Lee Jung Ha are set to star in the new drama “UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces” (literal translation)!
“UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces” follows a group of former special forces soldiers who reunite—not to protect the nation or pursue world peace—but to safeguard their families and neighborhood. The story delivers a lighthearted and humorous take on their unconventional mission.
Yoon Kye Sang plays Choi Kang, an ordinary insurance investigator and former member of the JDD Special Operations Unit who’s known as “the guy who never served in the military.”
Jin Sun Kyu plays Kwak Byung Nam, a former HID counterterrorism officer who now runs a hardware and stationery store. He also leads the local youth association in the Changri neighborhood.
Yoon Kye Sang and Jin Sun Kyu, who previously showed strong on-screen chemistry as a crime boss and gang member in the hit action film “The Outlaws,” reunite in this new project.
The ensemble cast also features Kim Ji Hyun as Jung Nam Yeon, the owner of Mammoth Mart; Go Kyu Pil as Lee Yong Hee, head of the Yong Mu Special Martial Arts Center; and Lee Jung Ha as Park Jung Hwan, an engineering student at Seoul National University.
Writer Ban Ki Ri, known for the emotionally rich storytelling in the “Missing: The Other Side” series, joins the project as a creator, helping to shape its unique and original world. The series is directed by Jo Woong, praised for his stylish direction in “Justice” and “A Virtuous Business,” with a script written by Kim Sang Yoon. Together, they aim to deliver a well-crafted, lighthearted action comedy.
“UDT: Our Neighborhood Special Forces” is set to premiere in the second half of 2025.
